Etwa 16 Kilometer westlich der Stadt Selçuk trifft man auf einen weiteren Orakel Ort des Gottes Apollon, dem Ort Klaros (lateinisch Clarus), der in der Antike zur etwa 13 Kilometer entfernten Stadt Kolophon gehörte. Auch die antike, aber kaum bekannte, Stadt Notion lag in unmittelbarer Umgebung.
Unser diesmaliger Besuch in Izmir sollte uns auch nach Karşıyaka, einem der beiden größten Stadtteile von Izmir führen, denn wir folgten der Einladung unseres Freundes Mehmet zum Tee, nachdem unser letztes Zusammentreffen bereits fast 6 Monate zurück liegt. Mehmet ist diplomierter Büchsenmacher mit eigener Produktionsstätte in Beysehir, wo wir uns auch kennen gelernt haben.
