Now we are on our way back...
It is, as if the blue sky, which reveals itself as if from parts of clouds and green hills is waving to us.
The primary reason for our visit in Şanlıurfa, which is also is known as “City of Prophets” and which was in its busy times during our visit, was our desire to see Göbekli Hill, which bears the traces of transition to settled life.
In spite of being invited to the excavation works to be conducted by German Archeology Institute Professor Klaus Schmidt, we act impatiently and find ourselves in the prehistoric age, in Şanlıurfa, on this hill which has impressive architecture at the earliest opportunity.
We come to the city with our team of three people as guests of Şanlıurfa Governorate and learn that 2011 excavation works have been cancelled. This is the moment when our “Be Impatient to Discover” motto comes to life.
I recommend that you act impatiently too and interpret yourself the existence of animals contained in the symbolic world of Neolithic period in this unique architecture as soon as possible.
Besides this, I know that you will read the first chapter of article series “Go East! 2011” where Detlev Simon, who explored Turkey by making a motorbike trip with his lovely wife, shared his unbelievable experiences with great interest.
Of course this is not all.. Here you have in your hands Alaturka Journal with the articles you will read with pleasure.
Enjoy yourselves, love.

Even thumbing through pages of some random travel guide, anyone meeting Turkey (as a touristic country) can easily get the impression that this country would be bringing about extraordinary things with her unique landscape, her rich culture adorned with a historical heritage and her warmhearted people, setting tongues wagging with their ultimate hospitality, which is an undeniably famous fact.

Culinary
Delicious Bread, Pastry, Coffee and Cakes- Jürgen Effertz
In Turkey, a bit of the crispy sections of white bread is tasted whilst it’s hot, crispy and steamy “just out of the oven” fragrance is in the air, before it is even put on the table at home. In Germany, we were always warned not to eat hot bread for otherwise we could get a “tummy ache!”
Voices
White Sail I Dream of from Serkan Yıldız
Those at peace with the blue will have a smile on their faces innocent of reason when they are at sea side, no matter what their existing angst is. You may call this smile whatever you like. A greeting, an indication of relief, madness...say, is it not good to be a bit mad?
