Plant sculptures at EXPO 2016 Antalya

The EXPO 2016 Antalya offers a truly special occasion - experience lively sculptures made from plants in growing and processing.

Very popular in North America, botanical sculpture art is presented on the EXPO grounds from the group Mosaiculture International Montreal from Canada.

Founded in 1998, Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal has developed and fine-tuned its unique expertise in designing, mounting and maintaining mosaiculture exhibitions, gardens and works.

A not-for-profit corporation, Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal’s objectives include:

  • Promoting the garden arts as a showcase for the values of the new millennium and as a vital component of the urban landscape.
  • Maintaining and consolidating the international leadership of Montréal and Québec in the area of mosaiculture.
  • Highlighting Montréal, Québec and Canada on the world stage through participation in major international horticultural events and exhibitions.

“Mosaiculture” is a magical word referring to both the accomplished art of glass mosaic and the sophisticated origins of artistic horticulture. In fact, contemporary mosaiculture traces its roots back to the Renaissance, a glorious epoch of grand royal gardens. Today, it has evolved into an art of unprecedented forms.

Mosaiculture is the most spectacular of all the horticultural techniques. Now considered an art in its own right, it is the successful blend of several disciplines: sculpture, whose principles apply to its structures; painting, reflected in its palette; and horticulture, expressed through its use of the ever-changing medium of living plants. Mosaiculture also echoes the spirit of our times through its application of eco-friendly methods and techniques.

Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal draws on a team of landscape architects, engineers, horticultural mosaic artists and sculptor-welders, all of whom are dedicated to pushing the bounds of the practice through research and development. They have refined their techniques, adapting them to existing urban realities to raise their craft to the level of high art. The result mixes beauty, feelings, textures and volumes with plants and flowers to create the unique and magnificent living works known as mosaiculture.

  • Planning and designing events that showcase the garden arts (landscape architecture, horticulture and mosaiculture)
  • Creating temporary and permanent mosaiculture gardens
  • Designing mosaiculture collections
  • Designing exclusive sculptural work
