A tip: immediately after you have been sunburnt, you should try to cool down your damaged skin by cold compress. To do this you can use yoghurt and,or quark taken straight from the fridge and
applied to your skin. If there is vitamin C available, up to 1.000 mg stops the inflammation of the skin quickly. Acetylsalicylic acid, ie. aspirin, taken immediately and again after about 6 hours also helps to soothe sunburn.
Don't use any cream! It keeps the heat inside your skin.
Another remedy for soothing skin irritation is to try to get the bark of an oak tree, cook it and, when it has cooled down, put the liquid on your burnt skin. This oak extract is sometimes available at pharmacies. Mix a solution of 20 ml of liquid with 300ml of water. After that, you can use any health products, especially those which contain aloe vera, either as cream, lotion or gel.
For the following night, try to get any product containing St. Johns Wort. However, if you use St. Johns Wort for your skin, be very careful in the sun because it can make skin extremely sensitive to it.
Don't do any more sunbathing until all the problems have gone, and use high protection cream in future.
