Repair of your personnal goods in Turkey

E-mail Print PDF

Whether you are in Turkey on holiday or have settled here, a completely new way of thinking is necessary in relation to all aspects of service and repairs. This is because of the huge gap between European and Turkish wages.

Over here, sometimes you may be surprised in the way things are done. Less than half of your goods will be thrown away when they are damaged. Most of them will be repaired and this just for a small amount of money.

First, the shoe cleaners who you will always find at busy places, should be mentioned. This job is important for many people and does not carry any social stigma. It is much better than being unemployed! Even shaving will be done by a professional barber and not like in Europe at home with your own shaver. It is nice to be treated like this and it is not expensive at all. You will be quite surprised to find out what cheap, reliable service is available here.

Lot of tourists to Turkey use some of their time here to have some small work or repairs done on their watches, jewellery, leather clothing or even their glasses. There are lots of well-equipped, specialist shops offering all these services, and they will always do a very good job.
Don´t worry, just try them.
