Yivli Minaret (the Fluted Minaret), the top of this well known minaret can be seen from most places in Antalya. It was built by Sultan I. Alâeddin Keykûbad in 1219 during the Seldjuk era.
The mosque near the Fluted Minaret called Alaaddin Mosque and also Ulu Camii (Grand Mosque) is a historical mosque which was church in Antalya. The mosque's fluted minaret, which is decorated with dark blue tiles, is a landmark and symbol of the city. The mosque is located in Kaleiçi (the old town centre) along Cumhuriyet Caddesi, next to Kalekapısı Meydanı.
