Like almost everywhere in the world, tennis has become really well-known and popular in Turkey. In Alanya the first tennis courts were built at five star hotels, but more and more people wanted to practise the sport in their leisure time.
Most of the courts are in the city centre, mainly belonging to sport clubs which maintain them. They offer the courts on an hourly basis for a reasonable price, so it is not necessary to be a member of the club. Lessons are given by some of the club members or by professional coaches.
Some courts belong to the local authority. It is relatively easy to find out if they are for hire. You can usually get lessons there as well.
As it can be really hot during the daytime, lots of people enjoy their sports in the early morning or even late at night. It is not uncommon to have a game at 2 o´clock in the morning! But you will need a good court with floodlights!
