Since 1992 there has been a special even held every October: The Annual International Swimming Marathon of Alanya. This championship is divided into different groups of swimmers`s youngsters, men and women under forty,men and women between forty and fifty and people over fifty.
The starting area is always Kleopatra Beach, you have to swim past the Castle Rock at Cilvarda until you reach the habour of Alanya, altogether about 5 kilometres. Quite often there are well over hundred people from 15 different countries joining this special event. If you are a licensed swimmer and believe yourself to be fast enough, we will see you there. The prize for the winner is one week`s holiday in Alanya for free.
