Couple of our readers were asking if we can organise trips to some of the famous sights and so we decided together with some of our partners (Kizkalesi - Reisen Travelagency, the magazine Merhaba Akdeniz, Alditours Travelagency) to set up a first readers trip leading to Mount Nemrut. Following there will be couple of more trips prepared. We would like to invite you to help us with your experience and tips, alternative aims or interesting places in the future. First day, 11th of May 2008 - 9.00 am start direction Kizkalesi
Break for lunch in Anamur at „Restaurant Mare Vista“. After lunch keep on going to Kizkalesi, accomodation next to castle at „Hotel Kilikya“. Sight-seeing. Meeting with other part of the group who will join from Kizkalesi at the hotel.
Second day, 12th of May 2008 - 7.30 am at the bus leaving for Tarsus.
9.00 am at Tarsus: Sight-seeing of St. Pauls spring and the Gate of Cleopatra
10.00 am at the bus leaving for Adana-Toprakkale – Maras.
1.00 pm arival at Maras for lunch, later going for copper and braas bazaar. After that leaving for Katha, accommodation at the hotel „Hotel Nemrut“ about 6.00 pm
Third day, 13th of May 2008 - 4.00 am at the bus leaving to Mount Nemrut, it is worth leaving that early because of the fabulous sun set next to the ancient monuments of the King Antiochus of Commagene.
Exceeded walk with guide and explanation
On the way back we will Stopp at National Park of Katha, walking through historical ruins and buildings to the Roman Bridge Cendere from the 2nd century AD. Then leaving for Aslantepe, the citadel of Eski Katha and Karakus.Later leaving for Urfa with break at the dam project Birecek all along the basin of Euphrat and Tigris river (depending on the official permission of the local government).
Lunch next to Gölbasi. We will visit the birth place of Abraham, will see the castle of the Knights of the Cross, the Halil Rahman Mosque and the basin of the “Holy Carp”
Spending the night at “Kilim Hotel” in Urfa.
Fourth day, 14th of May 2008 - Travel along the basin of Harran, going back direction to Gaziantep (Visit of the eldest university) and break at the Palace Cervanseray, will stop at the ancient brick buildings with their curious roof constructions.
Stop for lunch in Antep and visiting the museum over there.
Continue the trip back to the hotel at Kizkalesi, again at “Hotel Kilikya”. Last night together with the members Kizkalesi group.
Fifth day, 15th of May 2008 - 9.00 pm leaving for Alanya, stop for lunch next to Anamur.
