Manavgat Waterfall
The watercourses that pass from the slopes of the Taurus Mountains, from narrow and steeply sloped canyons and from underground, for reaching the Mediterranean, create waterfalls that are beautiful beyond comparison, along their journeys.
One of these wonder of nature waterfalls is located in the Town of Manavgat, at 3 km north of the centrum and is named after this delightful town.
At this spot, the cool waters that presents a beautiful range of colours of the Manavgat River, with its old name Melas, flows from a levee that is about 40m wide and 2m high. Although the fact that the level it flows down from is not very high, its roaring run on a wide field and strength, justifies Manavgat Waterfall’s fame and offers an amazing scenery that should not be missed.
Restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and observation terraces are available at the resort which its neighbourhood has been recomposed as a nice picnic site.
Next to the ebulliently running waters, the plane trees which the sun twinkles through their boughs, add unique beauty to the environment, with their branches bent over the river and their roots resisting to the flow. Also a small wishing pool is available at the resort, which according to a tale that Cleopatra had bathed in.
Transportation to Manavgat Waterfall is being done via minibuses that depart from the Town of Manavgat.
