Station 21 - Alexandroupolis - Camping and sightseeing

On the way to the south, the Municipal Campsite in Alexandroupolis is a very good option for a stopover just before the Turkish border, which offers good shopping, an interesting downtown and the very well-equipped campsite also a fairly good network of cycle paths.

Take advantage of the opportunity to refuel, as the fuel is cheaper in Greece than in Turkey.

Alexandroupoli is now one of the strongest emerging cities in Greece. One of the landmarks is the city's lighthouse, the Fáros on the harbor. From the port there are boat connections to Samothraki, Limnos and Rhodes. Depending on the day of the week, the connection to the neighboring island of Samothraki is up to twice a day and the crossing takes about 2: 15h.

Alexandroupolis - Attractions in the vicinity

In the immediate vicinity are remnants of the former Via Egnatia to see.

Hiking and circular routes / Roman traces and testimonies

Shortly after leaving the campsite, you will find the beginning of the inner-city cycle path network, which has been developed into a network not only through the city center but also through many side streets.

The campsite Alexandroupolis itself offers:

A meadow area divided by hedges with dense trees between road and sea. In addition, there are shadows through matte roofs, the stands are partially concreted. About 200 m long and up to 20 m wide, with coarse gravel interspersed sandy beach.
