Dalaman Airport - much more then a provincial airport

Flughafen Dalaman

Dalaman Airport is an international airport and one of three serving airports to the south-west of Turkey, the others being Milas-Bodrum Airport and Antalya Airport. It serves the towns of Dalaman and Marmaris. It is mainly used by foreign holidaymakers from the United Kingdom and Germany.

The project has been realised with credits from the German Hypo-Vereinsbank and significant YDA-AKSA assets. Dalaman Airport, serving areas such as Marmaris, Datça, Fethiye, Göcek, Sarıgerme, has reached the capacity to meet the numbers of flights and passengers, increased through the growth and expansion of the tourism sector in Turkey.

ATM Dalaman International Terminal has been awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Certificate, the ISO 14001 Environment Certificate, the TS 13001 HACCP Food Safety Certificate and the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.

Bus transfer between the airport and the city of Marmaris

Most tourists are brought by their tour organizers or their booked hotel agency from and back to the airport, this is because the connection of the Dalaman airport is not very well organized with public transport still today. Havas is a small agency offering these travels with small coaches as well. However, there is no regular timetable. The coaches start business after arrival of a domestic flight of Turkish Airlines, Fly Air, Atlas Jet and Anadolu jet from the airport to Marmaris and Fethiye. To go from the town to the airport by coach will take 1 hours approximately.

There will are about four daily buses to and from the airport from each town. (Coming from the International Terminal, turn left and walk 200 meters to the Domestic Terminal to catch the Havas bus. The price for the trip is about 15 YTL. However, in front of the terminals taxis are always waiting for new customers, but for sure this will be more expensive then the coach.
