CMT Stuttgart - In just a few weeks, Stuttgart will once again be the center of attention for all things travel and caravanning at the CMT from January 17th to 25th, 2026.

The world's largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure will focus not only on exciting holiday destinations near and far, but also on innovations and offers related to caravanning.

Trends, New Products, Self-Conversion, Technology & Accessories

More than 120 new products and world premieres await discovery by caravanning enthusiasts at CMT 2026.

Getting Started with Caravanning on a Budget

Numerous manufacturers are increasingly focusing on leaner, more flexible portfolios and more affordable entry-level models. Bürstner is one such example with its Papillion model. This camper van, based on the Fiat Ducato, is offered ready to drive in its simplest configuration starting at just €40,000. The Clever Drive Kids 600 is available for under €50,000. This model offers an affordable entry-level family caravan and features, among other things, four fixed sleeping berths in the rear, configured as bunk beds. Those with a smaller budget might find what they're looking for at Hobby or Fendt, where entry-level caravans are available for under €20,000. "While there is still a wide range of high-priced vehicles on offer, the counter-trend towards more affordable entry-level models is also noticeable among many exhibiting companies," confirms Alexander Ege, Director of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart. According to Ege, other key areas include caravans, as well as off-road and all-wheel-drive vehicles.

CMT Stuttgart - Trend towards individualization

More and more caravanning enthusiasts prefer customized solutions or focus on optimizing their vehicles. Numerous small manufacturers have specialized in meeting this increasing demand and are presenting their solutions at the CMT trade fair. One of these is Kompanja from Brühl. The team led by Ulrich Diefenbach uses the new Renault Trafic and the Citroën Jumper as the base models for their conversions. The starting price includes front airbags, rear parking sensors, and the sound and climate package. It also comes with two sliding rear windows, a glazed tailgate, and LED headlights. Those who prefer a DIY approach will find what they're looking for at Kuckoo Camper, for example. The company is presenting its latest model at the CMT trade fair: the Max mini-caravan. The Max is available in three versions: as a self-convertible conversion kit, with a pop-up roof providing space for up to four people, or with a roof rack system. This creates space for bicycles, surfboards, or additional equipment – ideal for outdoor enthusiasts.

CMT Stuttgart - New Technology & Accessories Area

The huge Technology & Accessories area in Hall 10 also offers a wealth of tools and solutions for customizing your vehicle. From awnings and canopies to camping and outdoor equipment, and even self-sufficiency and clever technical solutions, you'll find everything here that the tinkerer and outdoor enthusiast could desire. Those looking for independent energy supply will find what they need at Next Level Systems. The company specializes in high-performance solar modules that, according to the supplier, are easy to install. Another patented world first is the self-sufficient waste bag cassette from LooBuddy in Austria, which is being presented at the CMT trade fair. This solution allows for easy, chemical-free disposal of waste in the regular trash.

Here, caravanning fans might even bump into a familiar face or two from German television.

Also new is the newly designed "Living Room" meeting point with a diverse program – including cooking demonstrations, lectures, and talks. A highlight for DIY enthusiasts

At the "Selbstausbau" (Self-Conversion) trade fair, taking place as part of the CMT from January 22nd to 25th, 2026 in Hall C1 of the Stuttgart Trade Fair Center, you'll find everything you need to convert or optimize your own caravan, from helpful beginner tips and expert advice to selecting the perfect materials. For example, Cargo Clips, a supplier presenting a 1-clip system with 1000 design possibilities for your vehicle conversion, or Famous-water.com, offering their own solutions for water treatment. Following its successful premiere this year, the special exhibition boasts an even wider range of products and services.

All the new products (as of December 2025) at CMT 2026 can be found here: New Products CMT 2026. Tip: Early bird tickets for CMT are available until December 24th.
