It was initially the slogan that came to our attention of the company GentleTent "Do you still cycle? Or did you start with turtle'n already?".

Genuine innovations sometimes take a long time to come, often lack of courage, often the retention of overhauled technologies because you do not recognize the train of time or because you simply want to hold on to the old acquaintance?

On the next day of the Caravan-Salon Düsseldorf, we followed our compulsory first round, this time focusing on Hall 18, where an interesting supporting program for beginners in camping tourism has been put together.

From the campground "Unter den Jenzig" in Jena, we had chosen the route to Düsseldorf using initially relatively free motorways, which then abruptly changed the closer we came to the Ruhr area.

From the New Danube campground we first had driven towards Cheb-Eger in the Czech Republic were we explored the city with its impressive castle, the Stöckl and the pedestrian zone as well as the closer areas around at the lakes for storing water (see Cheb).

The morning walk along the New Danube from Camping New Danube had brought us crossing the pedestrian bridge below the A 23 via the side arm New Danube to the Danube island, which we had already explored in the opposite direction with its beach sections and cafes.

The walk up to the castle of Cheb was to create a surprise, which we had not expected at all. We were already aware that the Emperor Barbarossa had been quite active here, but not in what form.

Despite several visits, a part destination of our tour through Vienna once again was the house of planner and artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, where there are still new details to discover in his fascinating architecture.

Our encounters on the road are never safe from surprises, according to we have reported on these encounters often already. Of course, there are also countless long-distance travelers among the European campers, who have long left the borders of Europe and do some adventurous tours.

Our first explorations in the surroundings of the campsite Zugligeti Niche Kemping had already brought us to the chairlift up to the highest elevation of Budapest, the Janosberg. The Janosberg is still a popular recreational area or a tour destination for the city's population, so there are plenty of footpaths and cycle paths in a green environment (report follows).

After a few initial talks about possible activities in and around Budapest, András & Márta, the owners of the Zugligeti Niche Kemping, recommended the ride up to the Jánosberg by chairlift as the first view of Budapest could be open a first general overview.

For another exploring of Vienna we started from the campground New Danube on foot this time, in order to find a route as far as possible away from local noisy traffic to the city, which can either be followed on foot or bike. The goal was the green zone called Prater, at least to get to the Wurstelprater, despite the current temperatures.

The Avtonomni kulturni center Metelkova mesto is an autonomous center for politics and culture in the center of the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, which is well known all over the world (we have already reported).

Gorgeous sunshine had lured us away from the computer to the large parking lot at the main bridge near Kitzingen, when the flags and pennants on the bridge and in the city were already striking from a distance.

Back from our boat trip to Shurdhahi Island with its ancient ruins and the subsequent boat trip through the canyons of the Vau-Deja dam there still was time until the departure of our bus, which was to bring us back to the Campsite Legjenda.

Our boat trip on the Vau-Deja reservoir was very relaxed despite our initial skepticism towards the large group of students in anticipation of possible alcohol consumption and then appeared and was surprisingly accompanied by a lot of singing and easy exchange (without alcohol at all, great!).

It was a really imposing tour that we had done together with Linda and Franc from Legjenda Camping, when traveling along Lake Shkoder to the Cem Valley and Tamara some time ago, which we wanted to do again now next to the border crossing at Hani Hotit.
