Once again, we wanted to take a day trip to Thessalonica, this time Heidi and Rainer were our companions, which are, next to the ancient Roman buildings being interested in the infrastructure of Thessalonica, in particular the broad and long developed promenade for cyclists and pedestrians.

Despite the stormy wind, the warm sunrays of the afternoon sun forced us to take a short walk along the promenade of Perea.

After an extensive visit of the ruins of the ancient Roman city Herakleia Lynkestis on Via Egnatia, now called Bitola, we crossed the border to Greece without any significant delays.

Our journey of discovery should today take us from Camping Rino in Struga along the road from Ohrid to the monastery Sveti Naum. Every now and then we made short stops to get down to the lake shore.

Several times we had explored the hiking trails in the Galicica National Park between Ohrid Lake and Prespa Lake, which a few years ago were established with the help of the KfW Banking Group from Germany.

Despite the lost character of an actual castle of defense from the time of the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg, we still found some of the details in the castle.

After our extensive exploration, together with Linda and her daughters (Camping Legjenda, Shkoder), of the ancient church ruins on Shurdah Island, which we ended with a hearty picnic on the edge of the steep coast, some gray clouds were appearing.

In the course of our part-wise-guided camper tour we have now arrived at Camping Rino in Struga better in Kalista at the Ohrid Lake after a few days of adventure in Tirana.

Our tour concept included a boat trip on the Shkoder lake for the following day, when Linda from the Legjenda camping site surprised us with an interesting offer: a boat trip to the Shurda island in the Vau i Dejes Reservoir, which we have done last year by a tiny fishing boat.

Now we have been in Shkodra at Legjenda campsite for a couple of days already, within we have also undertaken an extensive hike to Rozafa Castle with a subsequent tour of the city.

On the way to Shkoder for the meeting with the participants of our part wise guided camper tour through Albania, Macedonia and Greece we had planned an intermediate stop at the Camping Rino at Ohrid Lake.

After another day on the PC, a walk along the promenade of the beach town of Perea should bring some oxygen into our lungs and some movement into the body.

After our short stopover in Xanthi to the purchase of the Kourambie biscuits, we had then passed the last kilometers up to the Zampetas camper stop in Thessalonica. We really wanted to relax the next day to be in time for the tour program in Shkoder in Albania.

After some wonderful sunny days in Alanya with nice camper guests in the garden camper stop, after all long lasting winter, the thermometer already showed 24.5 degrees, it had to go back on the road again. So our route first led to Izmir, then we headed to Burhaniye.

About 2000  years ago, about 170 public baths had been established in Rome, which, in addition to hygiene and physical fitness, were mainly used for social purposes. The Roman bath in Seleukia belongs to this philosophy too.

After an extensive tour through the ancient ruin town of Seleukia, which we concluded at the ruins of the public Roman Bath or Hamam, we continued to the dam of Oymapinar together with Olli and Max.

For Seleukia, you drive from Manavgat towards the falls, a few kilometers after the great waterfall the signposted turnoff leads to Seleukia.

In our search and exploration for interesting places or special offers for campers within the project work on the Balkans, we once again encountered a personality that we would like to introduce to you in this way: wine producer Dieter Sendker.

Again and again, we meet with travelers who do not only want to travel to the South for long-term trips, but also to take a break from the hectical everyday life in order to explore the world for personal experience.

Several times we had visited the site of the Agora of Izmir next to the Kemeralti Bazaar between the Çankaya and Konak districts, now again a visit was made, since the terrain is more and more reopened.
