And we continued with regard to the visit of various Christmas markets in Vienna, this time we went to the Christmas market "Art Advent" at Karlsplatz.
With local handicrafts, culinary delights from the gourmet regions of Austria or the rhythmic sounds of live bands, the art and craft market ART ADVENT hosts countless offers for its visitors. Art installations on the art island, fire dance and street theater provide entertainment with a glass or two of punch. A more than artistic winter experience for the whole family.
When arts and crafts enter a symbiosis
It is not for nothing that this Christmas market is one of Vienna's most popular Christmas markets: the so-called ART ADVENT on Karlsplatz. With its selected arts and crafts and organic gastronomy to entertainment. The visitors value the high demands of the exhibitors on themselves:
"We are not just organizers: we produce even those unique items that we offer for sale. We carefully select our guest exhibitors, we put together our music program and strengthen ourselves with our restaurateurs. We are ART ADVENT. The program at Art Advent is particularly extensive. Every day there are a number of different events, from readings to acrobatics to live music. These are the highlights:
Show workshop and live music
In the workshop you can witness the production of handicrafts, which will later be offered for sale. This includes e.g. various pottery, metal sculptures, up to chainsaw carving

Readings and performance
Bookworms can attend the numerous readings at Art Advent. The special thing is that authors from the most diverse cultures read from their works. Children's literature will also receive special attention.
Performances by acrobatics and dance artists take place regularly at the market area. So you can experience the performances of Soluna Rising or the dancers of Dreamdancer.
This kind of advent for children
For proud parents, the visit of the Art Advent is particularly appropriate, because for children a diverse program is offered. Highlights include:
In the center of the market area is the kiddie zone. During the opening hours, the little ones can ride carousels, jump around in the straw, visit the petting zoo or ride a pony
From 3 pm to 7 pm you can get creative in the Sternenwerkstatt: while crafting, the little ones can make their own Christmas gifts for their proud parents.
From Monday to Wednesday, from 3 pm to 5 pm, there are drawing games in the sky. Thursday to Sunday everything is under the motto fairy tales (15: 00-15: 30 clock).
