Verona is an Italian city in Veneto in the northeast of Italy, the city is located on the Adige about 59 m above sea level at the outlet of the so-called Brenner line in the Po Valley. Since 2000, the old town of Verona has been a World Heritage Site. Verona was a founding of the Räter and Euganeer tribes around 550 BC. It was conquered by the Gallic tribe of the Cenomans in the 3rd century BC and was a Roman colony from 89 BC onwards. The well-preserved amphitheater - the Arena - was built more than a century later.
