Travel Turkey Presents the Roman Roads Project

Travel Turkey – For the first time, a caravan appeared at the Travel Turkey tourism trade fair in Izmir. As part of our project, "A Journey of Understanding and Culture Along Roman Roads," we showcased both the project itself and the project vehicle.

It is no surprise, then, that the project, the vehicle, and the alaturka.info team received such a warm welcome!

This year’s Travel Turkey fair—featuring a range of exhibitions and conferences—took place from December 4 to 7 and has now closed its doors. 867 international exhibitors attracted 26,487 trade visitors from 34 countries. One of the event's goals is to create a broad platform for dialogue among exhibitors.

...there was a colorful variety of opportunities for visitors to get hands-on. Here, someone is trying their hand at carving a wooden spoon.

Separate from the main exhibitors—though no less interesting—were the market stalls offering typical goods from various Turkish regions.

The events during the Travel Turkey Fair were enlivened by eye-catching performers and artists marching through the halls. Here, a stilt walker pays a visit to our project vehicle, lot of visitors were gathering.

And, as if on cue: a group of dancing dervishes appeared right next to the project caravan. The colourful program and diverse offerings are key to the success of the Travel Turkey Izmir fair, further bolstered by the global connections of Hannover Messe AG.
