Lake Ohrid – Having spent over three years traveling through the Balkans and Turkey as part of our project "Journey of Understanding and Culture Along Roman Roads," we are delighted to offer you another hiking tour at Lake Ohrid in Macedonia as part of our project activities.

This hiking tour was developed in cooperation with local families, specifically to generate income for the local population through outdoor tourism a move that can help alleviate the pressing issue of migration from the Balkans, at least in the medium term. Please read our project description for more details. Further events are being planned, and another camper-based cultural tour is also in preparation!

Hiking at Lake Ohrid - Pure nature packed with highlights

Amidst the beautiful, natural surroundings of Lake Ohrid, we were initially amazed ourselves by the many opportunities to hike through unspoiled nature. Whether through Galičica National Park, the adjacent mountains towards the Albanian border, or simply along the shores of Lake Ohrid, we have created an itinerary that will be carried out again in early autumn 2018, led by us for a small group. As the tour is limited to a maximum of 10 participants, we ask that you let us know soon if you are seriously interested.

Hiking at Lake Ohrid, Autumn 2018 – September 18 to September 25, 2018

The all-inclusive tour price is €495 per person, assuming arrival by private car/camper or by plane to Ohrid (with airport pickup arranged upon request). Arriving early due to flight schedules is also possible; accommodation arrangements need to be discussed.

Here you can find flight offers from various providers for September! Those traveling by car or camper will receive a suggested route; a long-distance bus (FlixBus) is also an option for budget-conscious travellers.

The price includes:

- all main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- accommodation at Camping Rino, including electricity, internet, toilets, showers, and morning coffee
- packed lunch and water for hikes, plus transfer back to the starting point
- guided hikes and tours (alaturka + local guide) and rest stops
- all entrance fees (national park, museums, churches)
