Mahmutlar - Alanya

Mahmutlar - Alanya

Follow the highway in the direction of Mersin and, after about 10 miles, you will reach Mahmutlar, an independent but quickly growing small town belonging to the council of Alanya.

Mahmutlar is about 110 miles away from the international airport of Antalya and because road improvements have almost been finished, it can be reached quickly within two hours by car.

In contrast to Alanya, tourism in Mahmutlar is only just starting to grow, so the most important activity for this region is still agriculture. However, as mentioned before, this is changing very quickly. Apartment buildings are being developed and built rapidly. More and more people are working in tourism and so the infrastructure needs to grow quickly as well.

And if you need comfortable and fairly priced accommodation for your holiday in Mahmutlar, please check out our offer with the opportunity of immediate booking.

Already, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, there is a big local bazaar where it is possible to buy fresh vegetable and fruit. The climate of this region offers an average temperature of 27 degrees in summer and 14 degrees in winter. There are about 330 days of sunshine per year which is the most important reason for lot of visitors to the almost 40 miles of beaches.

After Konaklı, Mahmutlar is the next biggest village in the region of Alanya. About 25.000 inhabitants live in Mahmutlar, many of them from Germany. Tourism is growing very quickly not least because of about 50 hotel complexes of different categories and a beach of about 3 miles in length.

Public transport (dolmus) offers a circular service every ten minutes to and from the centre of Alanya.
Next to Mahmutlar there is an ancient town called Syedra, which is well worth visiting for a day off the beach.
Further along towards Mersin there are isolated bays and wonderful views to see on the winding road along the coast.
